A Nephew is Born!

Mara and Mike had their baby!  And it was a BOY!  I could hardly believe it, and actually thought they were playing a trick on me when I walked into their hospital room and saw the baby had a blue hat on his head.  His name is Wyatt David Ziesemer (born March 7th, 8lbs and 1oz) and couldn't be more perfect.  Seriously though, he is perfect. 

Little Wyatt is very much like how his dad was as a baby.  Which means he sleeps, and sleeps, and sleeps.  Then he wakes up to eat and sleeps some more.  I have seen him three times now, and have heard nothing but a couple grunts here and there.  He looks like an exact replica of Mike (but with more hair which is blonde), but has Mara's nose.  His skin is perfect and so is his head (since Mara only had to push 1.5 times!).

I can hardly remember when Amelia was this tiny!

Happy 8 Months Miss Amelia!

Happy 8 Month Birthday, Amelia!  Every month continues to get better and better.  For the past almost three weeks, she has been sleeping through the night - 7pm to between 5:45am-6:45am.  She has woken up an extra time here and there, but I blame that on her very first tooth!  That's right, my baby girl finally has a little tooth coming in on the bottom.  She really hasn't been too fussy about it, she just likes to chew and chew.

Amelia still isn't crawling, but she is ever so close!  She gets up on all fours and just rocks back and forth.  It is very funny too watch.  We will post a video of it so you can see her thinking about it.

She continues to enjoy Freddie.  They are best friends, she just watches him and laughs.  She ALWAYS has to know here he is and has learned to recognize his breathing/snorting and the sound of his claws on the hardwood floors.  Freddie still has no problem with her pulling his ears, poking at his eyes, and petting/hitting him.  He just sits there and looks the other way.  If the four of us are driving somewhere, he sits as close as he can to the carseat so she can "pet" him as we drive along.
